Challenge-based learning modules encourage students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios and to delve deeper into a topic. ePlanet has developed four challenge-based modules related to Planetary Health that can be used to deepen students’ understanding and application of the concepts they have learned in the ePlanet game and micro-learnings. The modules are specifically designed to foster active learning and critical thinking, encouraging students to engage with the material in a collaborative and hands-on manner.
Each module takes around 60-90 minutes to complete and can be used in in-class settings with smaller groups of students.
The topics of the 4 challenge-based modules are:
- Sustainable healthcare
- Healthy and sustainable diets: from a lose-lose diet to a win-win diet
- Air pollution and health advocacy
- Adapting to climate change induced flooding to reduce health impacts
